I love mystery and suspense books. My current favorite is "Bubbles Ablaze" by sarah Stromeyer. The main character is not your usual "sleuth". She's actually a hair dresser. The book even includes homemade recipes for beauty products. The whole series is funny, yet suspenseful! I really enjoy them!

My favorite book would be "The Hours" by Michael Cunningham (the book upon which the film with Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep was based). I love how it seamlessly intertwines the story of three unforgettable women from three time periods, whose stories are masterfully paralleled through their experiences of loneliness and uncertainty. As an added bonus, it's beautifully written and demonstrates Cunningham's beautiful prose and gift for language. Thanks for the giveaway!

I just recently finished "The Art of Racing In The Rain" by Garth Stein. (http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/6824270) and I can not express enough how much of a great book this was. It had me in tears by the end. It reminded me so much of my beautiful girl, Roxie, who is the most loyal dog (although slightly weird haha) I have ever had the honor of adoring. The book is written with so much heart, and is genuinely one of the best reads of 2009 for me (and it's only January!)

I love the book "A Game of Thrones" by George R. R. Martin. It's in the fantasy genre :) I love it for it's unpredictability and it's engrossing characters and storylines :)

It's the first book of a, as yet, unfinished series. The author isn't in the best of health either. So... although I reccomend the seires, it's up to you if you want to invest yourself in something that might not get finished :(

Probably my most favorite book is Smoke Jumper by Paul Evans. It is a book that I read over and over (I pick it up every couple of months) and learn something new about myself each time. And, it isn't that kind of book! I don't know how to describe it, but every person I've suggested read the book gets it after they've read it. I am usually a mystery and/or romantic suspense kind of gal, it's not that at all. Our of the norm for me, completely!

I really loved the Harry Potter series and the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is my favorite. Unlike the first few books in the series this one seems to be more adult, which is fitting since the kids had grown up into young adults and were very much dealing with adult issues. If you have never read the books but have only seen the movies you owe it to yourself to read the books. The movies are good for being movies but the books have so much more story.
Thanks!
