I enjoyed "A Simple Plam" by Scott Smith. The premise of this book is that two brothers and a friend discover a downed plane, along with $4 million dollars. They decide to keep it. What follows is what happens when greed and Murphy's Law mingle together.

Well, my favorite is more like a series than just one book, Twilight. Yes, I'm shamelessly bragging about it. I'm adult fan and I love this series. It's pretty fast paced (to me anyway, I mean hello, I sat up and read them all in one night each) I loved the suspense, I always had to know what was going to happen next. Now several of my friends are hooked and I have people to share my love with. If you haven't read them yet, I recommend them, highly!

I have lots of books I love, but I am going to give one my children and I love - Roxaboxen. It is a beautiful book about children using their imagination to create a whole town and way of life. I love this book so much that when our paperback fell apart, I bought it in library binding.
Ooo...I'm about to read the last book in The Baxter Series by Karen Kingsbury...I don't want it to end!

I love the author Jennifer Weiner. She has two books that are just amazing. Her first novel, Good in Bed, is the perfect book for any woman who has ever felt insecure, especially the "big girls." You laugh & cry throughout this book. She has another book called Little Earthquakes that is a must read for any mother. I don't even have kids and I could relate to this book. Everyone I've recommended this book to has called their favorite book.

My favorite book ever is "The Swan House" by Elizabeth Musser. It's historical Christian fiction. It's a coming-of-age story about a 16 year old girl and how she deals with some very serious and deep situations in her life and how religious faith fits into it all.
I really enjoyed this book. It hit a spot in me that brought out a lot of emotion and had meaning to me.
My favorite book is All the Pretty Horses. I have read it at least 5 times and seen the movie. I think it is classified in the adult fiction genre! Thanks for the opportunity to win!

I really liked New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. It is a young adult paranormal, but many older people love this series. It is action packed and truly makes you remember what teenage love was like.

Any of the books in the Wild Cards series of mosaic novels. It's a series written by a team of science fiction authors that takes a very realistic look at superheroes. If you can start with the first book, I recommend so, but the latest book Busted Flush was just released.
The series can usually be found looking for George R.R. Martin's novels, since he's the editor of the series.
I just finished "Remember Me" by Sophie Kinsella. It's a light, comical read as all her books are!
I finally read To Kill A Mockingbird recently. What a fantastic book! I now understand why most kids are made to read this book in school!
"Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee" by Dee Brown...Should be required reading for all..will change your idea on how the West was really won.
I'd recomend the Shopaholic series by Rebecca Eckler, such funny books!

My near-favorite book I've ever read is "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers. I have read this book 4 times. It's a wonderful story of forgiveness and love that will frustrate you, anger you, make you cry, and make you smile.

I'm reading Ines of My Soul by Isabel Allende right now and loving it! It's set in the 16th century and follows Ines as she leaves Spain for the New World and plays a central role in the founding of Chile.

This might not be the type of book you are talking about But the book I found helpful is ... Beginner Basics (Vogue Knitting on the Go! Series). After years of trying to learn how to knitt this book made sense to me. It is a great book.
I love the HArry Potter books, great for kids and adults too. I think she really captured the amazing creativity and imagination of the world she created, I just love reading about it.

My favorite right now is a series by Janet Evanovich. The Stephanie Plum series is funny, light easy reading. If you havem't read any I highly recommend you try them.
Edgar Sawtelle is the current book of the week for me and I have to admit, I'm pleasantly surprised. Oprah and I don't always see eye to eye on books but this one IS good.

I'm reading The Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa Gregory. A wonderful read if you like historical fiction. I also enjoyed reading The Other Boleyn girl...also written by her.
One of my favorites that I continue to re-read is The Chronicles of Chrestomanci by Diana Wynne Jones. She is one of my favorite children's fantasy authors and her books are so captivating.
I loved Jen Lancaster's Such A Pretty Fat. I love books that make me laught out loud.
I am trying to read more this year. I have a huge list of what to read started. A good book..... Something Borrowed by Emily Giffen. It is just a "real" book. I loved it and could not put it down and immediately rushed out and bought the sequel!

Savannah Blues by Mary Kay Andrew is great , very funny mystery type, I'd live to read more by her
I loved Seven Storey Mountain. It is a religious/spirtual book. I read it as a teen and have always said its me fav book. I should read it again to see if its still true.

I just finished the entire Sisterchicks series. they are inspirational fiction books about pairs of women in different stages of their lives who go off together to find themselves and have very fun adventures. I was actually sad when I finished all of them.

I love to read and I have many favorite authors but some of the best stories I have read have been the Harry Potter books. I am in my 40's but absolutely loved reading these books.

Read One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It is a great book. Now it's a long book but it's well worth it.
I recently read probably the most clever book ever---Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn. This is THE novel for logophiles. What happens when a small island government prohibits the use of every letter of the alphabet one by one? Read this funny and slightly scary book to find out.

I love The Stand by Stephen King. I can read and re-read it again and again.
I adore marley and me even before it came out as a movie!! I have read this book a thousand time's I am an avid dog lover and this book alwys makes me laugh and cry every tie I read it
I ditto Shalee's recommendations and would add She's Come Undone.
I read cookbooks like other people read novels. (OK I read novels too). But my favorite are the ones that are by Ina Garten -- The Barefoot Contessa. I love how she sets up each recipe and there are wonderful pictures of the end result.
One of my favorite books is Hot Chocolate for the Mystical Soul by Arielle Ford. I have read it so many times. It is true stories of prayers being answered, angelic interventions, visitations from departed loved ones, and so much more. The stories are truly uplifting and beautiful..great read! It makes me feel wonderful reading these stories and receiving inspiration from each of them for my own life.

Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson is a wonderful fantasy book. Vin, the Main Char, starts out as this paranoid out-for-herself thief recruited because of her unique abilities by a rebel leader. Slowly over the course of the book not only does she change, but the effects of what the group is planning begins to appear.
I'm addicted I can't help it. I just finished the second book, The Well of Ascension, and plan on getting the third out of the library if I can!

My favorite book has to be Anne Of Green Gables which has a series of books. Anne is always daydreaming and having her head stuck in a book. She hates her red hair and finds a great family that loves her. I could read those books over and over again.

My favorite book of all time is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. That book is so incredible and I hope someone reads this and enjoys it was much as I did.
My favorite book right now is "Bette Greene, Wings to Serve." It is part of a series called "Christian Heros Then and Now," which are Christian missionary stories. We have I think around 20 of them and we all love them!

I don't read fiction, but I just finished The Debt Diet, by Ellie Kay.
There are a lot of great tips, but most of all, the author is funny! Her stories actually had me laughing out loud! Most non-fiction books aren't that funny.

Actually, my favorite "book" is a whole series. It is the Cedar Cove series from Debbie Macomber. Their great books and she releases a new one in the series every year around September. She also has little updates on her site that are really cute from the book "characters".

I like anything by Karen Kingsbury. I am rereading One Tuesday Morning and Beyond Tuesday Morning before starting the final book in that series.
I love books. So many types of books. One favorite is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers...another author I like in a VERY different genre is William Bernhardt. In that same genre, John Sanford is good too.

Hi, my name is Sarah...and I'm a Twilight addict. I've read the series 3 times since November.
My favorite non-Twilight book is Donald Miller's Blue Like Jazz. I kind of felt like it put some pieces together for me.
Just read "A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity" by Bill O'Reilly. Amusing book and written so I was hearing his (Bill's)voice as I was reading it. It is an autobiography about his younger days.
i love the francine rivers mark of the lion series. they are some of my fav reads!
My favorite book as of right now is "Twilight" I seriously have an unhealthy obsession with the whole saga. It's an awesome love story and great adventure and almost everyone can relate to the main character, Bella Swan.
Even thought it's a Young Adult book I know plenty of woman ranging between 12-50's that love this book just as much as I do!

I recently read Carolyn Jessop's "Escape," about leaving the FLDS. It was fascinating to get such an honest view into a world I know nothing about.

I recently read The Book Thief and would highly recommend it. It's technically Young Adult fiction...but it's pretty deep and a real thought provoking book.
I absolutely love Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. It is young adult fiction, but is my favourite book. I also love Til We Have Faces by CS Lewis. Great book, that.

The Wicked series by Gregory Maguire. While in theory they are about the other characters in The Wizard of Oz, when you read them they are really about so much more and relate so strongly to what is going on in our times that there is so much you can get out of reading them.

I just finished reading Pride by Rachel Vincent (found it early in my bookstore, it isn't supposed to be out until Feb1). It was fantastic. I love the play between the characters.

"Blood Crazy" by Simon Clark. It's my favorite book ever, and is a post-apocalypse/zombie novel. It's pretty awesome.

i just started reading charlaine harris's "sookie stackhouse" series. it's along the same lines as anne rice's vampire books, but a bit more, um modern? i really liked the first book. so much that i bought 4 of the other books in the series...but there are 9 total in the series. A good suspense is TheCharm School by Nelson DeMille. We had to read it in Russian class in high school - way back when :)

I'll nominate 2 books as I can't choose between them. 1 Jean Auel's Clan of the Cave Bear. It's prehistoric fiction about a girl who loses her parents in an earthquake, and what happens to her after. Don't watch the movie it sucked compared to the book.
2nd Dean Koontz Odd Thomas Series.
It's about a guy named Odd Thomas, and his ability to see and speak with ghosts, told in Dean Koonz style.

My favorite book that I'd recommend right now is Wasted by Marya Hornbacher. It's a memoir of her struggle with eating disorders. If you know someone with an eating disorder, or just enjoy reading about interesting things, I'd definitely recommend it as it gives some wonderful insight and a different perspective on it. I really enjoyed this book.

I love "The Cat Who..." series by Lillian Jackson Braun. She takes my favorite subject....cats....and incorporates them into a mystery. The book keeps your attention and you almost feel you are watching it all happen. I especially like "The Cat Who saw Red...". I think it stands out to me cause it was the first one of the series I read.

I have lots of favorites, but one that always sticks out in my mind is "The Travel Guide to Heaven" by Anthony DeStefano. It's a great comfort to read.

I'm having a great time writing down all these books people are recommending! I just finished The Little Giant of Aberdeen County by first time author Tiffany Baker. It was really good!
I like the book The Luxe. It's a romance and a little suspenseful too! I was initially drawn to it though because of the beautiful ball gown on the front cover!
The most recent book I've finished was Coraline by Neil Gaiman, and it was fantastic. Very scary and well-crafted.
I recently read and loved Love Walked In. I love the strong female characters in the story. The writing style also sucked me right in because it felt like how I think!

I enjoyed Jennifer Wiener's Good in Bed. I chose it because the main character is struggling with her weight (in which I can totally relate!) and she learns to accept who she is. She also learns to let people love her for who she is.

I love Jodi Picoult books because they are relatable to things that really happen in the world. I don't really have a favorite, I love them all
My favorite book at the moment is The UltraMind Solution by Dr. Mark Hyman. Fix your broken brain by healing your body first. It is intriguing.

I am reading Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates..and it is sooo good!
My favorite book is a Christian fiction by Ray Blackston titled "Flabbergasted". The main character starts out life as a regular guy who just took a major job-related move and is now looking for a new girlfriend. He starts attending church to scope out the ladies and through a series of events and memorable friends discovers that life is about more than he ever realized. The book is SO funny and has touched me deeply the several (6-7) times I've read it. :-)

I really enjoyed The Secret Life of Bees. It's a great story about some strong women who stick together. It's a really wonderful story!
I can recommend two books that I've read recently. The first is a romance/chic lit called Just One of the Guys by Kristin Higgins. The book was charming and funny and I really identified with the heroine of the book. The other book is a YA book by Richelle Mead called Shadow Kiss... well really the whole series is fantastic and should really be read from book 1 Vampire Academy, fantastic writing, snarky and funny and clever!
I love Wild Orchids by Jude Deveraux. It has it all, romance, mystery,...I really recommend it.
i'd recommend Shepherding a Child's Heart by Tedd Tripp...it is a great parenting book.

I have so many favorites but I would have to say Phantoms by Dean Koontz is definitely one I would recommend if you like horror. He builds the tension and horror very well and it almost seems like this could actually happen (which makes it scarier)

I just finished reading Mark of the Lion by Francine Rivers- it was excellent and I'm working on the other 2 books in the trilogy now.
My fave ever book is "the westing game" by Ellen Raskin. It's listed as a book for ages 9-12, but it is also a wonderful book for adults. I actually think adults will get more out of it.
Mr. Westing dies under mysterious circumstances. At the reading of his will, he accuses (via his lawyer) one of the people at the reading of killing him! He makes a game out of it. The people are split into pairs with a couple of clues. The first pair that solves the crime wins the inheritance. Very good book!

I'm reading Worldliness by C.J. Mahaney and love it! So many times I let fame and fortune subconsciously influence my thinking and become discontent before I even realize what is happening. Mahaney emphasizes keeping the main thing the main thing.

I enjoyed Beneath a Marble Sky. It was a book I was given to review for a now-defunct group, and I never would have found it or wanted to read it otherwise. It's the true (fictionalized) story behind the building of the Taj Mahal. It's a little disturbing at times, but still a good read.
I recommend the book Hot Mahaghony by Stuart Woods, a mystery. Love his books!

I just read Legally Dead by Edna Buchanan last night. It was an easy quick read and the storyline was unique. I guess it'd fall into the thriller/suspense genre, even though it really wasn't either one of those.

I am a big animal lover and just finished "Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World" by Vicki Myron. It was well written, informative and Dewey was so great! Made me cry at the end, though!
